Specimen SS141

This is an ULTRA RARE amber fossil. It is a large Bird Feather preserved in Dominican Amber. Any vertebrate remains in amber are extremely rare, but a Bird Feather is both easily recognizable and one of the most prized inclusions in amber, period. The feather shows the many barbs and long shaft in textbook fashion. The feather is almost fully complete and displays beautifully - it is not matted or obscured like many amber inclusions. This is a fabulous example of a screamin' rare Bird Feather entombed in Dominican Amber, a top quality example of one of the most sought-after amber fossils in the world. (A small close-up photo of the feather is included for free.)

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
