This is a simply a spectacular display fossil. It is a HUGE, museum quality Palm Frond specimen from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This is a very complete Sablites sp. leaf, one of the most sought-after and displayable fossils found in the Green River Formation. The Palm has great dark color, which contrasts beautifully with the natural, buff-colored matrix. This amazing fossil has extremely nice detail preserved - the individual leaflets and large petiole (stem) are wonderfully showcased! The massive frond is wonderfully showcased on the huge rectangular display plate - including the frame, it is a whopping 4 feet wide by 5 feet tall...WOW! This is a breathtaking example of a rare Palm Frond fossil that can not only be part of a fossil collection, but also proudly displayed in a home, office, or museum! (Because of the large size and weight of this fossil, we will have to personally deliver this specimen to US destinations only - sorry, no oversees shipping available.)
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
