This is an extremely displayable Russian trilobite. It is a spectacular Hoplolichas plautini from St. Petersburg, Russia. This is a REAL version of the "Pincushion" Hoplolichas  that has been on the market for years. It has been proven that all of those "Pincushion" Hoplolichas  are not real, and that the long, "Pincushion" spines are ALL FAKE! That type of trilobite did not exist in nature! This is the way the trilobite is supposed to look - with large pustules, but not long spines! This specimen is fully complete, very well articulated, and nicely outstretched. The Hoplolichas has been prepared with the long occipital horn free-standing. The entire thick shell exoskeleton is covered with large pustules and tiny spines. The trilobite is wonderfully showcased on the large, sculpted limestone plate. This specimen is simply as good as it gets. It is a beautiful example of this rare type, and it is REAL!

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
