This is an extremely collectible vertebrate fossil. It is a HUGE Trionyx concentricus Soft-Shelled Turtle from the Eocene of Wyoming. Trionyx lived among the dinosaurs in the Cretaceous Period, but survived the death of the dinosaurs, and the genus still exists today. This specimen is extremely large (TWENTY inches long!) and has great detail preserved. The shell has been prepared fully free of matrix, and can be displayed from either side! The turtle displays beautifully on an artistic, custom wood and metal stand (not pictured). This is a top quality example of an enormous Trionyx soft-shelled turtle that has the long bone protrusions around the circumference intact (RARE).

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
