This is an extremely displayable Russian trilobite. It is a spectacular Hoplolichas plautini from St. Petersburg, Russia. This is a REAL version of the "Pincushion" Hoplolichas  that has been on the market for years. It has been proven that all of those "Pincushion" Hoplolichas  are not real, and that the long, "Pincushion" spines are ALL FAKE! That type of trilobite did not exist in nature! This is the way the trilobite is supposed to look - with large pustules, but not long spines! This specimen is fully complete, wonderfully articulated, and perfectly outstretched. The Hoplolichas has been prepared with the long occipital horn and many body spines free-standing. The entire thick shell exoskeleton is covered with large pustules and tiny spines. And the huge hypostoma (mouthplate) is even fully exposed! The trilobite is beautifully showcased on the pinnacle of the sculpted limestone block. This specimen is simply as good as it gets. It is easily one of the most beautiful examples of this type we have seen, and it is REAL!
