This is a special trilobite fossil. It is a complete Erbenochile new species from a new site in Morocco. This specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This type of trilobite has two major features that make it extremely collectible - HUGE eyes and a row of vertical axial spines. This specimen has both of these features wonderfully intact. The HUGE eyes are even larger than that of Coltraneia - hard to believe! And this specimen is one of the ultra-rare examples to have the compound eye facets intact! Almost every other example of this type we have seen does not have the facets preserved. This unique bug also has a distinct row of axial spines - these spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner on this example. This bug is also bizarre in having 23 tiny spines on the tail! These, too, are easily seen on this specimen. This is a beautifully-prepared example of this highly sought-after trilobite - one of the best specimens of this unusual type ever offered.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
