This is an absolutely stunning block of knobby ammonites. These ammonites are Peltoceras from the Jurassic Period of Russia. There are TEN gorgeous ammonites clustered together on the large block of limestone, the largest being well over FIVE inches across! This type of ammonite has a distinct ribbing pattern with large nodes, or ''horns''- this feature is easily seen on most of these examples. All of the ammonites are extremely robust and exhibit very fine detail - even the tiny inner whorls of the ammonites are wonderfully displayed! The ammonites have brilliant natural coloration - they even retain the highly iridescent, mother-of-pearl shell (the rainbow of colors are much more vibrant in person than what the pictures show). The ammonites are beautifully showcased, scattered about the of the large chunk of concretionary matrix. This is the most striking and displayable multiple plate of this type of uncommon ammonite that we have ever seen.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
