This is a rare trilobite fossil. It is a beautiful Acanthopyge from Morocco. This type had to be composited from parts for years, because there had never been a complete specimen found. Over the last few years, though, a few complete ones have been unearthed, and this is one of them. This specimen was acquired from a MAJOR fossil collection. The quality of this trilobite is fabulous - the thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved and exhibits amazing detail - the fine pustulation is even seen with the naked eye. The bug is fully complete - the head, body, and tail are all intact and well articulated. And the trilobite is very inflated and 3-dimensional, as can be seen in the photos. This is not only an excellent example of this rare Lichid trilobite, it is a wonderful display bug.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
