This is killer eurypterid fossil. It is a pair of Eurypterus remipes from the Silurian of New York. Eurypterus remipes is the State Fossil of New York, and is one of the most unusual arthropods in the fossil record. Eurypterids were thought to be one of the first aquatic animals to explore onto land. This amazing fossil has a very large (NINE inches long!) and complete specimen preserved, along with a complete, but folded example. The larger Eurypterid is textbook with the distinct paddles and many ''walking arms'' intact. The folded Eurypterid also displays incredible detail. The extinct arthropods are beautifully showcased on the stunning, rectangular block of waterlime. This is a top quality Eurypterid fossil that looks like it comes from a museum display.

A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
