This is a very, VERY spiny trilobite. It is a fabulous Comura sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was painstakingly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The ''look'' of this trilobite is truly amazing. There are about 40 vertical spines on this trilobite, and all of them have been prepared free-standing! This specimen is arched, showcasing these LONG spines beautifully. The distinct pleural spines and pygidial spines are also intact. But it is the breathtaking array of sweeping back spines that makes this trilobite spectacular. This is one of those extremely elusive "screamer" specimens that every fossil collector dreams about.
