This is a beautiful display plate of fossil fish. It is a HUGE "mass mortality" slab of fish from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This impressive plate (almost two feet across!) has TEN large Knightia eocaena fish scattered about the slab. All the fish are easily seen and quite distinct - they have great bone structure and extremely fine detail preserved. The dark-colored fish contrast well with the bright, buff-colored matrix plate. All the fish are natural to the slab and are beautifully displayed on the huge, rectangular matrix plate - perfect for a backsplash or framing! This is a fabulous "mass mortality" multiple plate of TEN large fossil fish fossilized together forever! (Large, clear acrylic display stand is included at no extra charge.)
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
