This is one of the most impressive fossils we have ever had. It is a HUGE, complete skeleton from the extinct Ice Age Cave Bear, Ursus uralensis. Cave Bears were the largest member of the bear family and the chief animal hunted by Neanderthal Man. Cave Bear material is getting harder to find - most of the caves have been discovered and collected out. This fact makes this fossil that much more impressive and collectible. This adult, male skeleton is extremely large - about NINE feet tall! The skull is an amazing fossil in its own right - the mouth-open, ''roaring'' pose is both awesome and quite overwhelming. The rest of the body is fully articulated, and is easily assembled on its custom-made stand. We have this beast standing at the entrance to our "RETRO ROCKS" store, and it gets wide-eyed looks and gasps from everyone who passes by! This is an ultimate showcase fossil that rivals any museum display - what a conversation piece!
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
